Colorful Light Pillars appear frequently in winter when snow or ice crystals reflect light from a powerful source like the sun or moon. Assisted by a distinguished cold temperatures, the pillar of light appeared when the light bouncing off the flat surfaces of floating ice crystals are relatively close to the ground. Pillars looks like a feather light which extend vertically above or below the light source, or both.
